Beach Party of the Century June 25-26 Celebrates 100-Years of White Rock Lake

Grab your flip flops and sunscreen and celebrate at the Beach Party of the Century grand finale weekend of the Comerica White Rock Lake Centennial Celebration, Saturday, June 25 (10am-10pm) and Sunday, June 26 (9am-4pm) on the banks of White Rock Lake at the Bath House.
Hosted by For The Love of The Lake with support from the White Rock Lake Foundation and the Friends of the Bath House, the fun-filled weekend includes a sandy beach to kick-back and relax. The ultimate beach bash event features music, concessions, beer and wine, an ice cream social, old-school games, children’s activities, antique car show, boat parade, fireworks and more.
Saturday festivities kick-off with an antique car show at 10am, followed by an awards presentation and car parade. Inside the Bath House (10am-12pm), the Friends of the Bath House will host a History Symposium featuring various historians and naturalists that include Dr. Steven Butler, Sally Rodriguez, Johnny Williams, and George Boyd. These experts will enlighten patrons about the history and environments of the Lake. Other exhibits will celebrate the history of the Bath House from its origins to the present.
Game tents sponsored by community organizations from take a step back in time with nostalgic favorites such as Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Dunking Booth, Cake Walk, Apple Bob, Pie Eating Contest and more. Children’s activities hosted by Promise of Piece Community and sponsored by Walton’s Lawn and Garden Center Gardens promise fun for everyone.
At 7pm, attendees wish White Rock Lake and Centennial Celebration Honorary Chairman Ebby Halliday a happy centennial birthday featuring live music, birthday cake, champagne toast and dancing for everyone with a fireworks display at 9:00pm.
Limited seating dining experiences on Saturday include The Veranda Lounge featuring Brunch prepared by Jeana Johnson and Colleen O’ Hare of Good 2 Go Tacos, Lunch hosted by Hollie Dorethy, Afternoon Tea showcasing Lone Star Teas and bites with Clarissa Almarez and Wine Tasting and hors d’ oeuvres with Ben E. Keith. A VIP Dinner at 7pm includes a 4-course, wine paired dinner from Chefs Marc Cassel, Peavy Road, Garreth Dickey, Park and Keith Cedotal of Malai Kitchen as well as a front row seat for the fireworks. Sunday shines with the Sunset Inn Breakfast at 9am featuring bacon, eggs and biscuits with live gospel music from N’ Christ, Fellowship White Rock and Munger Place Church. Starting at noon, Beach Party of the Century guests take part in an ice cream social, live music, concessions and children’s activities by Promise of Peace Community Gardens.
Chef Brian Luscher of The Grape leads an all-star team of DFW’s finest chefs for Chefs’ Picnic at the Lake, featuring a picnic lunch prepared by Dallas’ top chefs, served from the original Bath House concession stand, along with beer, wine and refreshments from Ben E. Keith, music, and exhibition of old-school photographs and memorabilia from White Rock Lake and the American Red Cross – Dallas Area Chapter and more.
Tickets for The Beach Party of The Century are $15 for adults, $5 for children, kids 5 and under free, and are valid both June 25 (10am-10pm) and June 26 (9am-4pm). Free parking available at Norbuck, Flag Pole Hill and the White Rock Dart station with complimentary shuttle to and from the Bath House all day. The Bath House Cultural Center is located at 521 E. Lawther Drive on the banks of White Rock Lake.
